Last night I showed a new work made in Processing, "Haggenbeck-Wallace" at the "Monkey Thunder" show in Muncie, Indiana. The work uses face capture to detect a viewer and project their image in the top 1/5 of the screen. As a face is detected, animations begin to play the piece becomes more chaotic, carts and camels drive by, a clown floats in the corner, culminating in a surprise "Escape"

Testing the Flaneur on the overhead projector in the UF Circa lab classroom. Light around the FLaneur could be problematic--may need to make the flaneur light and the negative space dark, the flaneur could be made with a transparent Gel. The arduino-servo patch is working, spinning 18 degrees in three intervals to bring each figure to vertical in slow succession.

This is my first go at felting my new batt of Allegheny County New York alpaca wool from East Valley Alpacas. This little pelt is in the process of being embroidered, delicately, by machine. I am also in the process of researching and collecting supplies for building an opaque projector for large-scale projection. More to come on these current projects...On a side note. I have had an excellent whirlwind weekend which included a Peepshow at the Buffalo Ukranian Cultural Center with Squeaky wheel with my awesome colleagues, Rebekkah, Jason, and Colleen. More progress on the Video Mutoscope. The upholstery is well under way with the top button tufted stitched and padded. I have an order in for 66 blueberry buttons (blue glass spheres) with my glassblower with which to tuft the leather top.
