On May 20th, I drove a vanload of student artists (Kelsey Ebbert, Derrick Niehaus, Katie Priddy, Holly Lay, Andy Boren, Kyle Broyles) to Buffalo to perform Metabellum II at Artists and Models: Rapture:Rupture, an annual event for Hallwalls Gallery. The performance, again in collaboration with choreographers Audra Sokol, Jenny Showalkter, and dancers Julie Matlik, Cristina Gustaitis, and Marc-Antoine Denechaud, and musician Adam Crawley was a great success. Of course Mark Hursty's air and light sculptures filled the space!
Great event. Much improvisation was had by all. I was glad to see work by friends Jason and Debora Bernagozzi, Jan Nagle, Eric Souther, and Elisabeth Pellathy. We also had the chance to pop over the border to Niagara Falls, Canada where I saw the sights I haven't visited since I was 8 years old--and the Maid of the Mist!
